My little guy turned 4. Hard to believe! He loves anything with wheels. He always has, so for him a race car theme was in order.

Luckily enough, we had many family members coming in from out of town, so we did our best to throw a fun party for everyone, this included a magic show as well as the rental of a margarita/pina colada machine (for the adults of course). It was so much fun and we were so glad to have everyone.

Everyone knows I love a well designed desert table. It’s a spot where you can centralize your decor into a display and show off the goodies for your guests. Also they make for a nice backdrop for your pictures.

For Johnny’s event, I designed an invitation, cupcake toppers, food labels, signs, favor boxes, etc. I love to personalize as much as possible. So the character on the graphics looks like Johnny.

I’m just going to mention that we got Johnny’s school picture right before the party, and to my surprise he was dressed as a race car driver. I had no idea. The photographer that came to Johnny’s preschool let the kids choose costumes. So I used it on the table as decor.

Ok, so I have to say, the magician doesn’t have to do much with the whole race car theme, but it was such great entertainment for the kids and the adults!

I took to oriental trading co. for some other fun coordinating items such as checkered flags, checkered banners and checkered flag balloons. I love this site, it has great prices, just be sure to order ahead of time so you get cheap shipping cost.

I cannot write this post without mentioning this incredible race ramp that the hubby built. I bought a set of wooden cars (from OTC) for the kids to paint as a craft project and I gave him the task of making a ramp, so they could launch their cars. What he built was so cool. It was completely made out of wood and just beautiful, not to mention the kids loved playing with it.

I hope this gives you inspiration to throw your own race car party.
